UC graduate schools and the 2019 US News Rankings

According to the reports by US News and World Report survey, University of California graduate schools bagged the best ranks among the best programs in the country.

The schools reviewed under the US News 2019 Best Graduate Schools were checked in the following six major disciplines: business, education, engineering, law, medicine, and nursing. And all or nearly all UC graduate schools secured a rank in every discipline assessed.

Some highlights:

UC San Francisco’s School of Medicine was second in primary care and bagged fifth position in research that makes it the only school in the country to get a rank in the top five of both categories.
All of UC’s education, engineering, law and medical schools got a rank in the list. UCLA’s Graduate School of Education and Information studies shifted up in ranking from number 3 last year to first position this year.
In the last ranking in 2018, UC also had several graduate programs that ranked number 1 (some of them don’t get reviewed annually), including: Chemistry (UC Berkeley), Critical Theory (UC Irvine), Economics (UC Berkeley), English (UC Berkeley), Nursing Midwifery (UCSF), Part-time MBA (UC Berkeley), Psychology (UC Berkeley), Sociology (UC Berkeley) and Veterinary medicine (UC Davis).

The annual list of Best Graduate Schools rankings dwell on two types of data: opinions of expert about the excellence of program and statistics that analyze the quality of a school’s faculty, research output, and achievements of students. Other factors include employment statistics, starting salaries for graduates and average standardized test scores of newly enrolled students.

Business

Five of UC’s business schools were ranked:
